Pennsylvania has emerged as a clear leader in clean/renewable energy. Some business sectors participating in renewable energy projects include renewable energy producers, installers and their suppliers, roofing contractors, building contractors, home performance specialists, plumbers/HVAC contractors, demand-side management products, engineers/architects, commercial developers, electrical contractors, grid management, utilities, and power traders/brokers.

Lancaster Prospers, the Lancaster County economic development collaborative, has developed an industry support network to address common needs as well as consumer education and outreach. The Center of Excellence in Renewable Energy meets on a bi-monthly basis to share information and identify opportunities for education and investment.
